SSP brings food and beverage units to Spanish airport

SSP Group PLC, operator of food and beverage outlets in travel locations worldwide, has expanded its offer at Malaga Costa del Sol International Airport with the opening of six units featuring international brands.

Operated by Aena, Malaga Costa del Sol International is one of Spain’s longest-standing airports and offers connections across the Costa del Sol region. It is also one of the country’s busiest transport hubs, handling more than 19 million passengers in 2018.

SSP has launched the airport’s first concept from chef Jamie Oliver, Jamie’s Deli. Jamie’s Deli offers passengers freshly-prepared dishes including sandwiches, artisan pizza, salads, hot deli items and pastries for eating in or on the go.

SSP also opened two Starbucks units, one landside and one airside, along with a SOHO Coffee Co. outlet in April. They were joined by Burger King® and La Boutique (La Boutique Italian food), a concept offering homemade, fresh Italian food, which also launched at the airport in April.

Blanca Ripoll, managing director of SSP Spain, says: “With its reputation as a popular destination for many holidaymakers, Malaga Costa del Sol is the perfect location for us to open new sites for our range of highly-recognisable international brands. We are honoured to be working with Aena to help improve the overall food and beverage offer at the airport.”
