The inaugural Game of Tongs fire-only cooking competition will take place in Devon on the bank holiday weekend of 25th and 26th May.
The first event of its kind to be held in the UK, it will see contestants testing their open flame skills to be crowned Fire Cook of the Year.
Top chefs, including Marcus Bawdon (UK BBQ magazine), Simon Dyer (ITV’s BBQ Champion) and Andy Annat (Wall of Fire creator), will rub shoulders with the best amateurs across eight categories in a fun, social knockout competition.
The rules allow them to cook on all types of equipment, from a pit dug in the ground to fire bowls and custom-built kit, with temperature monitoring being the only electronic gadgetry allowed.
Entries are welcomed for solo participants up to teams of three and cost £100-per-person, which includes camping, feasting, drinking and entertainment. Go to www.gameoftongs.com or e-mail email@example.com for more information.
